[News Anchor] This afternoon in Bradenton, an event supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month is taking place. The event is the 6th Annual Wellness Expo on Water’s Edge, offering onsite resources like free health screenings, mammograms, blood donations, financial advisors, and much more. This year, the event is in support of My Breast Friends 941. This is a local nonprofit that provides essential support to members of our community battling breast cancer.
[Laurie] It’s really important to create awareness in the community about the services that are available to them that can really help them, whether it be with access to health care or access to services. There are some really great vendors here providing a whole lot of services for a lot of great people.
[News Anchor] The interactive event not only provided informational wellness materials but also free gifts, raffle drawings, shopping opportunities, and food. This is part of the commitment to education and community engagement. This year’s Wellness Expo featured an insightful three-part learning series.
