Medicare Advantage
Pay for Non-Skilled In-Home Care
Since 2019, Home Helpers® Home Care’s services are an eligible benefit in Medicare Advantage plans. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have updated their rules to allow for services that “compensate for physical impairments, diminish the impact of injuries or health conditions, and/or reduce avoidable emergency room utilization.”
As the costs of care continue to rise, this updated Medicare Advantage benefit helps to reduce the burden for home care services for their members and reduce the need to send those who can safely live at home to nursing facilities if it’s not truly needed or wanted.
Determining Your Eligibility
Every plan is different and the plan administrator makes the determination if in-home care is a service that is provided in your plan. The best way to determine if your plan has a provision for home care services is to reach out to your Medicare Advantage Administrator.
