Home Helpers of Bradenton Awards Barbara Smith with the 2020 Exceptional Caregiver of the Year Award
February 16, 2021 – (Bradenton, FL) During the month of February, 12 local senior home care providers at Home Helpers of Bradenton were recognized for their exceptional service to the Bradenton area senior community during the 2020 year. Despite the cancellation of their annual banquet to celebrate their exceptional care providers (due to the pandemic), Home Helpers of Bradenton has awarded one of their staff with their 2020 Exceptional Caregiver of the Year Award. “This award is of great importance to our agency, especially during this pandemic,” said Jonathan Marsh, Owner of Home Helpers of Bradenton. “It not only illustrates our commitment to client satisfaction throughout the year but also our commitment to recognizing our essential staff who have continued to care for some of the most vulnerable in our community.”
Barbara Smith is a Manatee County native and current resident of Palmetto, FL. Barbara is an ordained minister and the daughter of a pastor. Her faith has always been an important aspect of her life and has helped her through the pandemic. Each day, she always says a prayer for the protection of her clients and her family.
“I am very honored to have received this award,” said Barbara. “I love being a caregiver because I believe it is my calling in life…to nurture others, to help them to get back on their feet, to help them with their activities of daily living, and to have a good quality of life. I love taking care of others and I believe that's what helps you to do a good job: that you love what you do.” Barbara is a Certified Nursing Assistant who has been a caregiver for 12 years. She has been a loyal and exceptional caregiver for Home Helpers of Bradenton for the past 2 years.
“We are all excited for Barbara as she is the epitome of an exceptional caregiver and represents the core values of our agency. With all of her passion and commitment to her clients and Home Helpers, she is very deserving of our 2020 Exceptional Caregiver of the Year Award! Her clients will share in the excitement as well once they hear the news,” said Amanda Lunsford, the Office Manager at Home Helpers of Bradenton.
In addition to the title of Home Helpers of Bradenton 2020 Exceptional Caregiver of the Year, Barbara was also awarded a cash prize. Also, she has been nominated to represent her agency when the selection committee at the Home Helpers National Support Center in Cincinnati, OH selects the Greater Tampa Bay Area 2020 Exceptional Caregiver of the Year in late February.
