In this extension to my blog about our Community Warriors, a team of empowered business women who help seniors and our communities, I would like to introduce two more of my “Power Partners,” Amber Geier and Janeen Salzgeber. Both of these experienced women help aging adults transition through new permanent or temporary senior living arrangements.

For as long as she can remember, Amber Geier has always enjoyed the company of seniors and has found their life stories inspiring. Amber’s personal experience of having to place her own loved ones in senior living facilities has had an everlasting effect. Amber truly understands the emotional and physical demands transitions place on seniors and their families.
After numerous years working within the senior living industry, Amber has seen the best and the worst of all senior living environments. She has worked hand-in-hand with families as they have navigated the next steps for their loved ones and guided them through the maze of transitioning.
After a decade of working for major corporations, Amber decided to open Pineapple Placements, a FREE senior living referral company, with the goal to help today’s seniors and their families in effortless transitions.
Amber will be there every step of the way, providing professional and emotional support during this difficult time. Amber holds multiple certifications within the industry and is highly involved in local non-profit groups that benefit the overall well-being of today’s aging population.
When I asked her what she loved most about being a Community Warrior, Amber replied, “My favorite part of being a Community Warrior is the compassion we all share together in giving back. I can trust everyone in the group with all my clients. Our goal is to give back to the senior population and to those who provide care for them. We are all like-minded professionals who put the needs of seniors and their families first at all times by working together in helping our clients navigate their next steps of their aging process. At some point the aging population and their families will need each one of our services. When one of us can’t help them, we know that someone else in the group can. “

Janeen Salzgeber, Senior Move Management, Pathfinders Downsizing

Having been blessed to be a caregiver for loved ones, a designer, a mom, a daughter and a wife, Janeen Salzgeber can see how her experiences and education has brought her to help create Pathfinders Downsizing Solutions. After all, she has earned two bachelor’s degrees: one in Corporate Communication and the other in Interior Design.
With more than two decades in the interior design industry, Janeen loves the challenge of creating that comfortable feeling from the items that belong to you and mean the most. She accomplishes this by giving each space meaning for those who use it and providing the most function in a senior’s new, “right-sized” home, where they will begin celebrating life stories yet to be told and experienced.
She said, “It means everything to give space meaning to those that use it. We love to give the gift of home.”
When I asked Janeen to share her thoughts about our Community Warriors collaboration, she explained, “We are all trusted professionals with a heart and commitment to seniors, their families and the community. Together, we can spread some love around, from hosting Taco Tuesdays for the hardworking Case Workers in the area, to clothing and food drives for smaller non-profits. We’re all about recognizing the heroes and little guys trying to make a difference for seniors.”
