Approximately 300 caregivers work for Home Helpers and Direct Link of Amsterdam, providing a vital service to those in need, but according to CEO Ramon Rodriguez their career choice is undervalued in the community.
As a way to show his workers they provide an essential service to the community, Rodriguez held a Caregiver Appreciation Day celebration for his employees and their families Friday. Rodriguez said as their boss he wants to show them his appreciation for their work. He also knows what they are going through as he provided medical services to those in their home and worked in hospitals.
Workers and their families were served lunch and had a multitude of activities to keep them occupied, including games and raffle prizes. Vendors also attended the event to provide services and educational opportunity to the caregivers, like Fidelis Care and the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department.
