It would be impossible to offer Exceptional Care to our Home Helpers clients and their families if we didn’t have Exceptional Caregivers leading the way! This year marks the third year of our Exceptional Caregiver Awards to recognize these dedicated women and men who are out there every day doing extraordinary work.
We’ll be providing individual profiles of each of our five regional winners in the coming months, leading up to the announcement of our Exceptional Caregiver of the Year at our 2018 National Conference in May. Until then, here is the list of our regional winners, each of whom earned an expense-paid trip to Charleston, South Carolina, where the big announcement will be made. Our regional winners include:
- Region One—Jeff Householder, Home Helpers of Altoona (Pennsylvania)
- Region Two—Craig Burt, Home Helpers of Jacksonville (Alabama)
- Region Three—Rhonda Robers, Home Helpers of Southeast Wisconsin
- Region Four—Brenda Powell, Home Helpers of Corsicana (Texas)
- Region Five—Timothy Fiedler, Home Helpers of Denver (Colorado)
Congratulations to Jeff, Craig, Rhonda, Brenda and Timothy! Being a regional winner is an accomplishment in itself and I look forward to sharing more about each of you in the coming months.
I’d also like to congratulate our five regional semi-finalists on their exceptional effort in 2017: Ouida “Peaches” Brown, Home Helpers of Bergen County (NJ); Kelvin Jackson, Home Helpers of Northwest Arkansas; Anne Bonokolie, Home Helpers of DuPage Suburbs (IL); Wanda Thomas, Home Helpers of South Tulsa (OK); and Dawn Wise, Home Helpers of Thornton (CO).
The Exceptional Caregiver Awards program continues to grow every year, with nearly 500 nominations received for the latest installment. We believe it’s a terrific way to not only recognize the exceptional work being done by Home Helpers Caregivers every day, but also a way to get their stories in front of people so you get a true idea of what we mean when we say “exceptional.”
I very much look forward to sharing some of these stories with you in the coming months, but in the meantime, I’d like to thank these and all Caregivers for the work they do for seniors, the disabled, patients recovering from surgery or illness or anyone else who needs assistance—thank you!
