CUSTOMIZABLE CAREGIVER SERVICES
Home Helpers Home Care of the Lehigh Valley is not your average in-home care agency. We are your extended family when family can’t be there, and you will get that feeling from the moment you first speak with someone from our team on the phone. Our staff is passionate about what they do, and you can rest assured that you will not be treated like just any customer. You will have found an advocate for your loved one when you retain Home Helpers Home Care! We continuously customize our plans of care to adapt to your unique situation for an affordable solution that keeps your loved one where they want to be: at home.
- Our common services include:
- Personal Care – Personal care entails any assistance with the basic activities of daily living to support your loved one’s goal of living independently, longer. This can include assistance with bathing, grooming, getting dressed, transferring, toileting, and more.
- Companion Care – Our caregivers always seek ways to bond with our clients by involving them in activities to stay socially active and engaged, not only in their home, but also in their community, with interactions that help provide a richer, more fulfilling life.
- Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care – Caring for someone with dementia brings a new level of complexity to the care situation. Our trained professional Caregivers will find the right balance to approach and therefore connect with the memory-impaired client, thus building trust to ease into a consistent care routine.
What is Home Care?
Home care services fall under the umbrella of “non-medical care,” so our services are not generally covered by health insurance, unlike home health care and hospice services. We do not perform medical services such as nursing, PT, or OT, although our staff frequently interacts, and coordinates care with, medical providers. Our services include companionship, personal care assistance, homemaker services and medication reminders. Home care services are generally covered by long term care insurance policies, and we are experienced with, and vetted by, most insurers in the industry. The types of clients we serve include seniors seeking to age in place in their home (whatever setting “home” might be), those recovering from an injury, illness, surgery, hospitalization or rehab stay, and those living with a lifelong disease or disability.
TAILORED HOME CARE ASSISTANCE
All clients are unique, so we start with an assessment conducted by a nurse, who ultimately develops a plan of care for our caregivers to follow. Home care visits could begin with regularly- scheduled hourly shifts of 4 hours or more, once or twice a week, up to daily coverage. We might also begin immediately with 24/7 coverage, which is often requested for clients who are a high fall risk, those on hospice, or individuals suffering with dementia. Another popular option offered by our agency is live-in care, whereby a specialized caregiver moves into our client’s home, and offers significant daytime care coverage, plus occasional nighttime assistance, when warranted. Live-in caregivers generally stay on their assignment for months on-end, offering tremendous consistency for the care recipient, which translates to a huge relief for their loved ones. Our services and plan of care evolve over time, as situations change.
